Normal, « Pitch Black » & « Riddick » post-processing … vs. RAW

A picture that does not have much fancy, I admit very willingly, except the fact that visiting Manly was very nice and I wanted to share you this little piece of coast fairly typical of the place. I hope one day to have time to prepare a short video of that day. At the same […]

During a walk around Cairns, we went along this clearing. I was struck by the atmosphere that emanated from it: it was beautiful, quiet, without harsh and direct light from the sun, nature everywhere, much less human. And at the same time, images of the many inevitable movies about Vietnam and one begins to imagine […]

, I continue with this bats skewer. Speaking about shooting and processing, I use, once again, my “to the right” exposure technique, to gain information in dark areas such as wings, then readjust the exposure in post-production. I also remove a piece of branch in the upper right corner. Below, a very poor video (I […]

Mid of afternoon at Manly with a terrific light and such a beautiful bay… I focused my adjustments by working on the complementary tones present at this moment (orange light and grey/blue sky) and I also worked on the sea surface: the light catch was pretty interesting.

This is a two minutes exposure with a simple ajustements work: Slight underexposure and saturation, removal of some ground dusts, and also a fence along the right wall.

I like the general dynamism given by the 24mm focal length in this case.

This was a very nice moment, just after some rain, the light was coming out again giving us beautiful reflexions and feelings. Anyway, I've to admit this picture have been a pain to post-process because of a so important contrast between highlights and shadows! Take a look to the non-processed one to get an idea…

Photography speaking, I don't like this picture. The ambient light was so awful that even after adjustments, the photo is still dull and boring. Anyway, I decided to share it with you because I found the contrast between old and new building pretty interesting and representative of Sydney.
